  I asked for 2 seats outside because we had our dog with us since we are traveling. It was 50 degrees and sunny today. They had 2 two-person tables set up and the rest pushed aside and an outdoor heater. I was rudely told they do not seat outside until 4 more months, as if it was absolutely absurd to ask.

  I've always had a good meal at Santiago's, and they are consistent. Their menu has changed little in all the years I've gone there and the food has been absolutely the same in all that time. Consistency says a lot about a restaurant.
  
  The sign outside Santiago's used to say "Gourmet Mexican Cooking." So, let's not mistake the food here as Mexican cuisine. I would describe most dishes as Mexican inspired. Food here is a far cry from what you get at any other even halfway authentic Mexican restaurant. So, here is a good example. Santiago's chimichanga is not a fried burrito. Santiago's chimichanga more closely resembles a tostada built on a crisp flour tortilla. So, be aware that menu items may not resemble what you have had at other places.
  
  My personal favorite dish is any of their burritos, which they also claim is the house specialty. I'm very fond of the bean and cheese burrito. Their enchiladas are also excellent.
